Világgazdaság

István Fekete, President of JVSZ

It is evident to everybody, that the coming year is not going to be an easy one. It is however equally obvious, that the Hungarian economy is safe, and particularly big companies perform very well, all this in contrast to the enormous budget deficit and the heavy current account problems. The future holds disproportionately heavy burdens for SMEs, most of all the so-called "forced" enterprises will be hard hit, and barely able to survive. This is on the other side to bring about the selection of the safe ones. JVSZ believes that in the coming year consumption is to shrink, inflation will rise above the rates foreseen by the Government, the weakening of the GDP growth will however be less than forecast in the convergence programme. It may be hoped, that favourable processes get launched, the forint keeps stable and the external judgement of the country improves.
