Világgazdaság

Synopsis:
"We do welcome the intention to involve companies and their business associations in the design and the practical implementation of external trade strategies in the future. One of the signs indicating this trend is a recent ITDH survey. Many of our members responding have submitted several propositions: deriving of their practical experience they are discovering again past business contacts the revitalising of which seems to be cheaper than developing new ones. Therefore recently more and more business contacts in CEE countries, in the states of the earlier SU, as well as in China, Japan, Vietnam and Mongolia are explored. In centrally controlled countries organised collective actions, in market economies mostly private initiatives are appropriate. In the survey also critics were articulated: e.g. the lack of transparency or accountability: the call of tenders for trade promotion as known from earlier years, was this year delayed until summer; the call of a tender for technology development of SMEs was also late. The impact of these delays may result in deferred or eventually abandoned projects."
