Only in a safe society can business really flourish - said András Sugár, General Manager of T-Mobile and Co-Chairman of the Investment and Competitiveness Council yesterday at a business forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Ministry for Employment Policy and Labour (FMM). The forum was also attended by Michael Lake, the former EU Ambassador in Budapest, who pointed out that from CSR both the economy and the society is only profiting. According to András Sugár responsibility begins at the work place, by providing the framework conditions. Results are manifest in real competitiveness - declared Márta Szili, Executive Director of the Joint Venture Association, and made allusions to the responsibility shared by the media: bad news galore about closing of factories or lay-offs, etc. get more publicity than companies' successes.
More flexible labour regulations and the need of more safety at work are widely discussed at different forums - added Gábor Csizmár, FMM Minister. (GA)
