Synopsis:
Budapest, (MTI) - The public sphere has to turn itself competitive in order to ensure the sustainable corporate competitiveness - said György Mosonyi, President of the Joint Venture Association at the JVA-Conference concerning "Competitiveness after the EU-accession", on Friday in Budapest.
After the EU-accession, our companies will have to stand ground in a market 40 times the size of Hungary - he continued. To face this challenge, the companies need - inter alia - an efficient, enterprise-friendly public service, which permanently renews and upgrades itself.
István Szent-Iványi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of European Integration highlighted in his presentation: in the framework of the just launched budget reforms the encrusted tax system needs to be upgraded and the rate of reallocation of means has to be reduced from 48 to 40%. As one of the most important issues, he pointed at the urgent necessity of restoring the confidence of investors, which was seriously hurt by the budget deficit and the quasi "monetary crisis" of 2002.
